Unfolding is rich and warm — deep reds, crimson and burnt orange moving across the surface, with grounded passages of dark, smoky red and quiet flickers of teal breaking through. It has real depth and presence: a piece for a wall that wants warmth with a little weight to it, the kind you keep noticing new things in the longer you live with it.

Lately I've been letting brighter colour slowly overtake the darker areas in my work. The darker passages are the parts of ourselves that ask to be sat with and understood — and as light is gently worked into them, they start to soften and shift. I built it in layers of mixed media on cold-press paper, letting the paper's texture pull the colour into real depth.
