Still Country is built from broad areas of green, ochre, rust and deep red. From across the room, it carries the feeling of open land. Up close, the surface breaks into scraped marks, thinner washes and raised areas of paint.
I did not begin with a particular place in mind. I kept returning to the canvas, covering and uncovering sections until the colours began to settle into something familiar. The title came from that feeling. It has the quiet of the countryside, but it never becomes a literal landscape.
Still Country is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, hand-signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Complimentary custom framing is included for UAE collectors. International orders are shipped safely rolled and tube-packed.
