I see A Quiet Moment bringing warmth to a living room, bedroom or a quiet corner you enjoy spending time in. Soft rose and golden ochre move through rust, deep brown and touches of blue-grey. There is a gentle brightness in the colour, with darker passages giving it depth and a place for the eye to rest.
Part of my Blossoms Series, this painting is about joy and beauty. I wanted to express the pleasure of pausing with something beautiful, with nothing more asked of that moment. Painted in acrylics and oils on Fredrix cotton canvas, its shifting colours and soft edges give that feeling room to unfold.
