Beyond the Curtain explores the act of removing the masks we wear—the layers we build to protect ourselves, to meet expectations, or to hide what feels most vulnerable. It speaks to the courage required to step forward without performance or defense, and to exist simply as we are. While this process can be deeply challenging, it is also one of the most essential steps toward clarity, acceptance, and inner freedom.
Built with layered mixed media and collage, the surface is tactile and expressive. The natural grain of the cold press paper remains visible beneath the paint, creating depth and subtle variation as light moves across the surface. Fine details and textures reward slow looking, giving the work an intimate presence that can only be experienced in the original.
